A position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Kenneth Kosik to conduct research on mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegeneration using stem cell-derived model systems using single cell RNA sequencing and lipid measurements. This will involve preparing brain organoids, glia and neurons from pluripotent stem cells. Furthermore, the appointee will conduct single-cell sequencing experiments, bioinformatic analysis of the transcriptomic data and lipid measurements. The appointee will be expected to make significant, original, and creative contributions to the research project, collaborate with other team members, and publish research.

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

A doctoral degree in biology or related field is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of post doctoral experience in neurobiology research.

Preferred qualifications

A solid research and publication record at the pre- and postdoctoral level. Experience with bioinformatics, single-cell transcriptomics, brain organoids, and lipid research.
